Yellow Rosebush of Hope

The photos are of a climbing rose bush that grows up the side of my east porch.  It is about 8 feet high now.  The cool damp weather in Minnesota in early June has slowed its growth.

Spring in Winona

The calendar reads March 23, 2013.  Snow covers most of the ground.  And I hear that cross country skiing is good according to a reputable source.  The sun is shining today and there is freshness in the air.  Spring is coming.  The birds are singing joyful songs.

Earlier this week, we had another ice and snow storm.  It closed schools early and schools were delayed the following day.  Life feels mixed-up when all of the routines get turned around.  We are called to be flexible.

Minnesotans will say that we survived the winter of 2013. In the meantime, we celebrate birthdays—Amaliya is 30 years old today. Yesterday twins were born, Nolan Thomas and Daniel Joseph. Today, Oliver is born.  No matter the weather, we  celebrate life.  Life is good.  I am grateful.

Winter Beauty Coming into a New Year of 2013

Sunrise view out my kitchen window.

An Irish Blessing:

House blessing

Bless this house, O Lord, we pray,

Make it safe by night and day,

Bless the walls so firm and stout,

Keeping want and trouble out,

Bless the roof and chimneys tall,

Let Thy peace be over all.

Bless the door that it may prove

Ever open to joy and love.

Helen Taylor

    A peaceful morning...
